Custom Aircraft Instrument Panels

The Process - Instrument Panel Design, Instrument Panel Prototype, Aircraft Panel Fabrication

NEW PANELS

  • DESIGN: All new instrument panels are computer designed from existing drawings or by reverse engineering of the original aircraft panel. The computer model is then modified to meet the new installation requirements including labels and placards. A drawing of the new design is produced for customer approval.
  • PROTOTYPE: At this stage, a clear plastic model of the new panel is fabricated for customer approval. The prototype can be tested directly on the aircraft and instruments can also be fitted and checked for interference with the structure. Any changes to the prototype will be incorporated in the final design.
  • FABRICATION: After customer approval, the final design is cut by state of the art cnc machinery using aviation grade materials or factory supplied blanks if applicable. Any required sheetmetal work is also completed on this phase.
  • FINISHING: The newly fabricated instrument panel is then prepared for final finishing and metal panels are corrosion treated. The final finish for aluminum parts is obtained using electro-statically applied powder paint that is oven cured at high temperature in order to obtain a beautiful and very tough finish. Several colors and textures are available at customer’s request. Plastic and backlighted panels are finished with high quality polyurethane. Custom colors can also be matched with high quality polyurethane.
  • ENGRAVING: The finished panel is then engraved with labels and placards using our exclusive laser engraving process. All labels are computer generated and engraved into the panel producing a beautiful and long lasting product.
